My Love for ABBA
is everlasting and unending.
And I will not apologize. In fact, I feel sorry for anyone who looks down on ABBA, (yes, this means you my dear husband) because they are missing out on truly some of the most insightful and cleverest songs ever produced. And if you are honest with yourself, you will admit that you have been pretending to hate them all this time.
I recently watched the movie version of Mamma Mia, fully expecting it to be silly and to not like it very much, but, ABBA triumphed once again! Those songs set against that Greek landscape, oh my. Such a treat for the eyes and ears, even with Pierce Brosnan’s goat-like singing (he was mostly just nice to look at).
So I say thank you for the music!
Meryl Streep singing ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ made me cry. Twice.
